Midwife & Breastfeeding Consultant

Breastfeeding Consultation Clinic

Charlie was breastfed from the moment he was born. I had taken Clare’s Breastfeeding Preparation class and with some help from the midwife I was able to feed him with no problem in the hospital. When I got home I experienced some problems and didn’t know where to turn. Then I remembered the breastfeeding support that Clare provides. I rang her and got immediate advice which helped straight away. Then Clare called to my house and soon after she had gotten to the route of the problem, gave me some tips to get back to normal and then reinforced the latch techniques again to avoid trouble in the future. She did not rush me, she was fantastic with Charlie and won my almost anti breastfeeding mum completely over. After than I was able to e-mail and phone Clare with questions anytime and she always answered. When I went back to work I thought that had to be the end of breastfeeding for me but again Clare guided me through how to manage working and breastfeeding. I was able to feed in the morning, express at work so that Charlie had enough milk for next the day and then feed him again in the evening. She also helped me to manage my milk supply so that I was also able to express in the evening and build up a stock of milk so that I wouldn’t run out. I am now expecting again and am again looking forward to breastfeeding my new baby because of the fantastic experience that I know I will have again and because of the reassurance of Clare’s support if I need it.

“I've had a bumpy ride so far in terms of my breast feeding but I can safely say that your kindness and support have been main reasons that I have persevered. I am so glad now that I have. It's been well worth the few speed bumps. I can't recommend your breastfeeding preparation class highly enough. It was essential for me as was the follow on class. I think that I would have fallen at the first hurdle (Mastitis) had you not reassured me and encouraged me to keep going. You showed me that although Breastfeeding can sometimes be tricky for some people, it's almost always possible to keep going...and boy is it worth it if you do :)”

Clare put lots of care, patience and expert guidance during the early weeks at home after my premature baby was discharged. It was challenging as my baby was not strong enough to breastfeed and I am glad that I found Clare to guide me.

I only heard about Clare when my son was 5 days old and after not succeeding at breast feeding I contacted Clare (i had no real support and used to pump and then feed him a bottle) after 1 visit at my home I could breast feed my son (up til then I had only got him to feed a few times as he would not latch on) however Clare showed me techniques and from then on I have successfully feed my son I have had a few hiccups along the way but with Clare's support I have managed to feed my son exclusively and he is now over 8months old now thanks clare.

Clare’s breastfeeding class is excellent, I always wanted to breastfeed but if it wasn’t for Clare’s continued support , knowledge and encouragement I can honestly say I would have never succeeded. I breastfed my little boy for 9 months and managed to avoid bottle completely, he went straight to drinking from a cup. Thanks Clare!

Your advice and the knowledge you imparted gave me the determination and confidence to know how I wanted my babies to be born, and the skill to make breastfeeding a delight.
